Performance Based Goals

Week 1: Goal Setting

Performance based goals

Performance based goals are exactly what they sound like...

We set goals that focus on our body's athletic performance.

When setting up your goals, especially in fitness, it is important to focus on what your body CAN do. Putting your mind to work on physical tasks will be easier to track and also give you the ability to steadily track progress.

Focusing on just the aesthetic portion is not only mind-numbing, but also a disservice to our health. By putting performance based goals into our health plan, we make sure that we're covering more than just appearance. Being able to accomplish these goals also helps us build confidence in ourselves and our body's abilities.

Some examples of performance based goals:

  • full push up
  • pull up
  • sub 10 min mile
  • sub 3 min 500m row
  • muscle up
  • 1 min plank
  • body-weight deadlift
  • body-weight squat
  • 1/2 bodyweight bench

These are just examples! Feel free to change the time/weight/reps to fit your abilities.
